This Privacy Policy describes how ERKOMOBİLE TEKNOLOJİ ANONİM ŞİRKETİ ("Erkomobile", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, discloses and protects information in connection with the PDF Scanner mobile application and the website at pdf.erkomobile.com (together, the "Service").

By using the Service you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer, as the scale and nature of our processing does not require one under Article 37 GDPR. Privacy enquiries should be sent to the address above.

2. Information we do not collect

To be precise about the things people usually worry about:

• We do not upload, read, store or transmit the documents you scan.
• We do not require or collect a name, email address, phone number or password.
• We do not collect your location, contacts or advertising identifiers.
• We do not sell or share personal data with data brokers or advertisers.
• We do not build advertising profiles or track you across other apps and websites.

The only circumstance in which we hold personal data about you is if you choose to email us — in which case we hold your email address and the content of your message for as long as it takes to resolve your enquiry.

3. Information processed on your device

The following is processed locally and never leaves your device:

• Camera frames. Used in real time to detect page edges and capture a scan. Frames are not retained beyond the capture.
• Document images. Written to the app's private, sandboxed storage area, which other apps cannot read.
• Recognised text (OCR). Produced by Apple's on-device Vision framework and stored inside the PDF itself.
• Folders, tags, file names and signatures. Stored locally as part of your library.

4. Permissions the app requests

Every permission can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings. Revoking a permission disables the related feature but does not delete anything you have already scanned.

5. iCloud backup

If you turn on iCloud backup, documents are copied into your own private iCloud container, tied to your Apple ID. Apple encrypts that data in transit and at rest, and Erkomobile has no ability to access it. You can disable iCloud at any time in the app's settings, or remove the app's stored data from Settings → Apple ID → iCloud on your device.

6. Diagnostics and crash data

If you have enabled "Share with App Developers" in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, Apple may share aggregated, anonymised crash and performance reports with us. These contain technical information such as device model, iOS version and a stack trace. They contain no documents and nothing that identifies you personally. You can switch this off in iOS Settings at any time.

The app embeds no third-party analytics, advertising or social media SDKs.

7. Purchases

Subscription purchases are processed entirely by Apple through your Apple ID. We never see your payment card, billing address or Apple ID credentials. Apple provides us only with aggregated, anonymised sales reporting and an entitlement status indicating whether a subscription is active. Subscription terms are set out in the Terms of Use.

8. Refund requests

Refund Requests. If you request a refund for an in-app purchase or subscription from Apple, we may share information about your in-app purchase activity with Apple to help assess the refund request. This information may include: the time elapsed since you installed the app, your total app usage time, an anonymized account identifier, whether the purchased content was accessed or consumed, whether your purchase included a free trial period, the total amount you have spent in the app, and the total amount previously refunded to you. This data is shared only in response to a refund request initiated by you, and only with Apple. If you do not want this information to be shared, you may opt out at any time by contacting us at ekochan@erkomobile.com.

9. Legal bases for processing (GDPR / KVKK)

Where we process any personal data, we rely on the following legal bases:

• Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) — delivering the app functionality you request.
• Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) — diagnosing crashes and improving stability, balanced against your rights by keeping the data anonymised and aggregated.
• Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) — for optional features such as iCloud backup and Apple's analytics sharing, both of which are off unless you enable them.
• Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR) — retaining accounting records relating to purchases.

The equivalent Turkish bases under KVKK Article 5 apply in parallel.

10. Sharing and international transfers

We do not sell personal data and we have no advertising or data-broker relationships. The only third party involved in normal use of the app is Apple Inc., acting as App Store distributor, payment processor and iCloud provider, under Apple's own privacy policy.

Because documents are not transmitted to us, there is no international transfer of document content. Any incidental transfer arising from Apple's infrastructure is governed by Apple's own safeguards.

11. Data retention

We retain no user documents and no user accounts, so there is no retention period to state for them. Your documents are retained by you, on your device and in your iCloud, for as long as you choose to keep them.

Email correspondence is retained for up to 24 months. Purchase records held by Apple are retained by Apple according to its policies; any accounting records we hold are retained for the period required by Turkish tax law.

12. Your rights

Under the GDPR and Türkiye's Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK) you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and the right not to be subject to automated decision-making.

In practice these rights are largely self-service here: because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to export or delete on your behalf. Deleting a document in the app removes it from the device; deleting the app removes its local storage; removing the app's iCloud data removes the backup.

If you believe we nevertheless hold data about you, write to ekochan@erkomobile.com and we will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority — in Türkiye, the Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK Kurumu).

13. Security

Documents are held inside the iOS application sandbox and are protected by your device passcode and Apple's file-level encryption. Because there is no server holding your content, there is no server-side breach that could expose it. We recommend keeping iOS updated and using a device passcode or biometric lock.

14. Children

PDF Scanner is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13. Because we collect no personal data at all, we also collect none from children.

15. Changes to this Policy

If this Policy changes materially we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where the change affects how data is handled, note it in the app's release notes. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
